Litter Reduction Task Force
In April 2017, Keep the Rez Beautiful, working with Pearl River Valley Water Supply District and MS Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, formed the Litter Reduction Task Force with the goal of combating the trash problem at the Ross Barnett Reservoir Spillway Dam. This Spring alone, volunteers cleaned up up over 13,000 pieces of trash from the Spillway area. This trash has detrimental Economic, Social, Health and Environmental effects on the Pearl River Watershed and Jackson's drinking water. You can support the efforts of the Task Force by joining us for a cleanup or by writing your county Board of Supervisors about the importance of a clean watershed.
