Join the Pearl Riverkeeper River Guardians!
The goal of Pearl Riverkeeper is continuous monitoring of Pearl River watershed health. An important component of this is an active, engaged community. Pearl Riverkeeper wants all of our residents and visitors to enjoy clean swimmable, fishable, drinkable water throughout our watershed. YOU CAN HELP by becoming a RIVER GUARDIAN!

-Check out our River Guardians map
-Choose your favorite section of the Pearl, Strong, or Bogue Chitto River or any of its creeks or tributaries
-Sign up as a group, organization or individual
-Visit your chosen location at least 4 times a year and look out for:
TRASH/DEBRIS
FISH KILLS
DISCOLORED, FOAMY OR FOUL-SMELLING WATER
SEWAGE SPILLS
LARGE ALGAE BLOOMS
FLOATING OIL AND GREASE
CONSTRUCTION SITE SEDIMENT RUNOFF
DIRECT POLLUTION OR CHEMICAL SPILLS
INVASIVE SPECIES
-Conduct a litter cleanup at least 2 times per year
-Report your citizen science observations and cleanups
-Join iNaturalist to document our flora and fauna
-Check out our River Guardians map
