Moss Lake/Pipeline Rd Paddle Trail
(Trail submitted by Pearl River Kayaks) PUT IN/TAKE OUT: Lake Harbor Boat Launch (Harbor Ln, off Hwy 43, Brandon, MS) LANDING/LAUNCH: Concrete boat ramp ROUTE: "Paddle out to the left thru local resident's personal paradises (Please be respectful of Private Property), then up the channel & thru the huge lotus fields into Spring Lake Slough. Explore to the north to see a birdwatchers dream ("Pelican's Roost": Breeding colonies of White Pelicans, Cormorants, Anhingas, Egrets, Herons, Kingfishers, Grebes & many more). Then, for the short trip, take a loop thru beautiful Moss Lake & return. For the longer trip, continue to paddle upriver thru the endless islands and channels to find the terminus of Pipeline Road." |
